Vision

Vision

OUR MISSION IS:

Impacting the Next Generation with the Gospel by making disciples of our generation.

WHAT MATTERS TO FVC:

- Transformational Truth

We believe God's truth is ultimate truth and His Word is truth.  From that belief, the truth should set us free John 8:32 and thus transform our lives.  Here are a few behaviors that should be true of us based on this core value.

  • Know God’s Truth
  • Respond to God’s truth
  • Teach God’s truth
  • Model God’s Truth

- Brokenness/Restoration

We believe at the fall of man in Genesis 3, man was broken. As a result of that man has expereinced brokenness on multiple levels, which we all find ourselves falling into a trap of pretending that we are okay.  The bad news we are not okay, The good news The Father sent His Son (Jesus) to restore us back to Himself.  This truth should drive us to respond to others the way God has loved us.  Here are a few behaviors that should be true of us based on this core value.

  • Authentic Relationships
  • Gospel-Centered Counseling
  • Safe Environment
  • Meet people where they are

- Hospitality/Generosity

We beleive these two concepts flow from the same heart.  A person that has been given much should give much.  We would also say even if we don't have much, if we have been impacted by the love of God, giving to others is something flows from a heart that has been changed by God (Mark 14:3-9). We desire to be a people who does not sow sparingly but realize that everything we have was giving to us by God and for God (2 Corinthians 9:6-8, Romans 13:2, Romans 12:13).  Here are a few behaviors that should be true of us based on this core value.

  • Grace-filled Giving
  • Entertaining Strangers
  • Spontaneous/Spirit-lead Graciousness
  • Live with others in mind

- Biblical Community

We know there is much talk about the idea of community, and some talk is very good and helpful, and others may miss the mark on what God intended to be true community.  In a world that has everything avaiable at our fingertips and where we can stay busy doing things every minute of every day, we desire to be a people that adjust our busy lives to do life together.  The gospel of Jesus Christ, not only has the power to save us from sin and restore us to a right relationship with God, the gospel also has the power to bring broken people together, in which He is the ultimate King and focus of our lives Together. Here are a few behaviors that should be true of us based on this core value.

  • Relational living
  • Gathering Often
  • Life Together
  • Speaking truth in love

- Missional Living

We believe Jesus has rescued us and He desires to rescue others.  Thus we desire to be a people who have made it our lifes goal to follow Christ in His example in coming to seek and save that which was lost (Matthew 18:11).  He also told us to go and make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19).  We also believe this mission should not be confinded to the four walls of the church, but should be expressed through every day lives by people who have been changed and rescued by Jesus.  Here are a few behaviors that should be true of us based on this core value.

  • Spirit lead living/ministry
  • Spontaneous Witness (Share the gospel)
  • Compassionate ministry
  • Gospel bridge (building them into others lives)
  • Gospel Expression (Loving other in word and deed)

- Longevity of Ministry

We do not want to just start a church, but a movement that outlast us.  God is a generational God and has told His people to pass His truth on to the next generation, thus this core value is last but not least.  We desire to be a people who live for the next generation and structure our lives accordingly.  Churches close every day, we desire to be around a long time and see the great work Jesus is going to do in Surprise and in the West Valley.  Here are a few behaviors that should be true of us based on this core value.

  • Financial integrity
  • Authentic living
  • Personal health
  • Leadership Development
